I noticed that AT&T commercial during the Olympics about a week ago and it kind of blows me away. It's one of the better commercials I've seen in a very long time. Actually, I remember the last television commercial that really got to me before this one. It was the NHL Stanley Cup commercial last year during the hockey playoffs:

I had only heard about Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" a little over a year ago, but had completely forgotten about it until I saw the commercial. It's a terrific song, yet I had remembered reading on wiki that the lyrics to the song were basically about his heroin addiction, which seems a little odd that it would be integrated into an Olympics commercial. Nevertheless, most people are unaware of the meaning to the lyrics and I'm glad a whole bunch of people are now introduced to, or reminded of, this great song. Here it is in full:

Rob - I used perfect day in a photo montage I did last march - think you commented on it then. However thesong will, in my mind, always be associated with Trainspotting. and its perfect for the segment they use it in. Well worth rewatching that movie - if just for the song and that piece of the movie!
