I just got through a quick and brutal battle with a flu bug that I came down with last night after going to bed. I went to bed about 3 hours before my normal bedtime knowing in the back of my head that something was wrong. About 2 hours later, I was battling to get out of bed over the dog who set up shop right next to me. Here's the kicker, for dinner last night I fixed Danielle and I a gigantic Pittsburgh Primanti Brother's style sandwich, with roast beef, cole slaw, fries, provolone....the works!!!
Well at 2am last night, "the works" found their way back up and out! Like most big battles with the flu, I wasn't really sure whether to sit or kneel the past 24 hours. I almost thought I had a case of food poisoning, but since Danielle is fit as a fiddle, that seems unlikely. The only reason I first questioned the flu is that I haven't had a case of it in over 3 years (since before moving to Vegas). But the symptoms fit......nausea, the squirts, joints ache, being warm (possible fever), dehydration. It hasn't been too fun.
I'm going to give work a try tomorrow though. I really can't afford to be missing too many days given how slow its been and how bad tips are these days. If I can muscle through 8 hours tomorrow, I'll have 2 days off to recoup. Wish me luck.
Oh, and to Jenn in Michigan who reads this blog every once in a while, sorry. I was supposed to meet with her and her husband tomorrow night after my 7-day stretch in the casino, but that's not going to happen. Sorry!

Hey Rob! No problem about not meeting up. I hope you feel better. We didn't make it to the strip on Tuesday - too many good beers downtown. I am sure we will be back next year. We can meet then! Jenn
