Okay, I guess this post is pretty much just for the Columbus guys/gals coming out here next week. With the Buckeye's loss to Michigan State on Friday, it looks like they're heading to the NIT. Although OSU AD Gene Smith IS on the selection committee, hmmmm. Anyway, I just thought I'd bring back a couple great moments from recent Ohio State bball history. These clips also just happen to be from the two most recent Buckeye men's basketball games which I have had the opportunity to attend in person.
This one is from New Year's Eve day 2005 against LSU and "Big Baby", Glen Davis. It was an awesome game!
And here's Matt Sylvester's shot to beat Illinois on 3/6/05. This was the final regular season game and it kept Illinois from attaining an undefeated regular season record. I bought the tickets about 3 weeks in advance counting on the Illini coming into Columbus with no losses. Illinois lead the entire game, usually with about an 8 to 12 point lead, until the Bucks battled back and kept it close until this happened!
And here's the whole play by play if you happen to be interested and have some time. You can kind of skip to the 1:20 mark to catch the real action. I can't watch this without getting chills! Gus Johnson's reaction on the play-by-play kind of tells it all! BTW, what really made this game so special was that OSU needed to serve a non-post season penalty that year, so this was pretty much it for the season for them. They did play a couple games in the Big Ten tourney, but there was no NCAA or NIT for them that year.

You forgot to mention all of the asshat Illinois fans that kept running their mouths the ENTIRE game…until went up by one. Then they got pretty quiet.
I still have hope that we will make the tourney. I would like to see Matta keep his streak alive of never NOT making the NCAA's. By the way if you can find the end to the Minn vs. Indiana B10 tourney game clip please post it. That game is EXACTLY why the NCAA blows away anything the NBA can put out there.
